چکیده
Objective: The aim of this work was to establish pseudoternary phase diagrams for Palestinian basil extracts (seeds and leaves), formulate a microemulsion, study the antioxidant antimicrobial effects medicinal plant. Methods: Pseudoternary were prepared by utilizing water titration method, using leaves) as an oil phase. Basil analyzed its phytochemical constituents after it extracted Soxhlet extraction device. crude their total phenolic content (TPC), flavonoid (TFC), activity (AA) standard methods (Folin-Ciocalteau assay, aluminum chloride ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) spectrophotometric method), respectively. In-vitro susceptibility determined antibacterial agar disc diffusion minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), bactericidal (MBC) against five clinical pathogens. potential in-vitro antimalarial various Ocimum in different solvents semiquantitative assay method. Results: results showed that both seeds leaves ethanol extract had on most bacterial strains, with respective zones inhibition 6-25 mm MIC values (62.5 - > 500μg/ml). plant has 74±1.4 mg/g AA, while value 40.4±0.8 mg/g. TPC 58.2±0.9 51±2.4 In addition, TFC 9.0±1.5 mg/g, 34.2±3.6 At room temperature, diagram determined. Combining Tween 20 surfactant resulted effective microemulsion. RP-HPLC Chromatography analysis presence (quercetin) 6.6 min. It found β-hematin not prevented any these solvents. This result, shown first time study, rules out mechanism been proposed explain plant, namely beta-hematin formation. Conclusion: Based results, is concluded natural source potent antioxidants, activities can prevent many diseases could potentially be used cosmetics pharmaceutical products.

Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is one of the important medicinal plant species. In order to produce an autotetraploid population of basil (Ocimum basilicum) by colchicine, different concentrations (0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.50 and 0.75%) and four treatment methods were examined (seed, the growing point of seedlings at the emergence of cotyledone leaves stage and emergence of true two type leaves stag...
متن کاملEffects of nitrogen fertilization on the phenolic composition and antioxidant properties of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.).
Many herbs and spices have been shown to contain high levels of polyphenolic compounds with potent antioxidant properties. In the present study, we explore how nutrient availability, specifically nitrogen fertilization, affects the production of polyphenolic compounds in three cultivars (Dark Opal, Genovese, and Sweet Thai) of the culinary herb, basil ( Ocimum basilicum L.). Nitrogen fertilizat...
